Research Associate - Statistical Linkage, Uncertainty and Inference
To make a leading contribution to the research agenda of the Urban Big Data Centre by carrying out research on Statistical Linkage, Uncertainty and Inference in a Complex Urban Data Environment. The post requires expert knowledge in Statistical Methodology and analysis. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals and to assist in managing and directing this complex and challenging project, as opportunities allow.
Research Associate - Urban Indicators project
To play a leading role in the quantitative modelling of urban systems in the Urban Big Data Centre. The position will also require working as part of a team within the UBDC to create innovative data products, particularly an ambitious urban indicators database, and the modelling, data manipulation, visualisation and research support work entailed with regards to a variety of problems such as uncertainty modelling, small-area estimation, and fusion of heterogeneous data at different spatial and temporal scales. It will also require the capcity to act with a degree of independence to determine the direction of the research project as opportunities allow. The ideal candidate would have experience working with urban geospatial data (environment, transport, housing, and other areas) and GIS. The position will require supporting the PI in the successful delivery of the project.
