Meet the team
Mingyu Zhu
Mingyu joined UBDC in July 2024. He has a PhD in Urban Digital Twin from the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Geospatial Systems at Newcastle University, where he also obtained an M.Res in Geospatial Data Science. Prior to his academic pursuits, Mingyu worked as an architect, delivering a wide range of projects across UK, Europe, Middle East, and East Asia. He has an M.Arch from the Architectural Association.
His research interests encompass the design, construction, and operation of the urban built environment, with a focus on GeoBIM, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). He is particularly interested in cross-disciplinary collaborations that bridge engineering, social science, and art & design.
