Title - Participatory Urban Analytics for Modelling Drinking Water Accessibility and its Contribution to Women's Empowerment in Nairobi, Kenya
Oluwatimilehin’s research aims to address significant gaps in water accessibility and women's empowerment in Nairobi, Kenya, by developing a comprehensive, high-resolution spatial analysis of drinking water accessibility and its impacts on women's lives.
By providing accurate and detailed data on water accessibility and its intersection with women's health, economic participation, and educational opportunities, this research enables policymakers and stakeholders to better understand and address the challenges faced by women in deprived urban areas. The study employs the IDEAMAPS participatory approach, integrating both quantitative methodologies and qualitative insights from community feedback to ensure model accuracy and relevance.
In addition, the research seeks to bridge the gap in understanding the multifaceted ways in which water accessibility impacts women's empowerment, thereby informing more targeted and effective interventions to improve their well-being and opportunities.
